Skaftafell, Iceland
After spending a fair amount of time at the Black Sand Beach, we decided to continue on our road trip up to the Glacier Lagoon! Iceland has one major highway and it wraps around the entire country (makes it pretty convenient for road trips). While on our drive, we decided to pick up two German hitch hikers who were headed in the same direction. We made it almost 5 miles before we were pulled over by the Icelandic police. I couldn’t stop laughing at the situation we were in, and somehow we got away with just a warning! When we finally arrived at the Glacier Lagoon, we said farewell to our new German friends and set outside to explore this natural beauty.
Imagine chunks of bright glacier blue ice floating in an endless lagoon… that is what it was like today! It was so beautiful and I could NOT stop taking photos! We saw sea lions and birds and just sat on the shore watching the ice float by.. Little pieces of ice would float up on the shore and I have never seen anything like that before! It was beautiful!! I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back to this part of the world again someday!!
